Tavistock, ON - The Petrolia Squires are on the
ropes after a 2-1 overtime loss to the Tavistock
Royals, putting the Squires one game away from
elimination as the Royals now lead the series 3-1.
The Royals
opened the scoring on the power play in the first
period as Kevein Brenneman made it a 1-0 game after
the first as the Squires could not respond.
Neither
team could find the back of the net in the second
period, but the Squires would get to the Royals
early in the third, as James Edgar would knot the
game at 1-1, in what would ultimately send the game
into overtime.
In
overtime, Andrew DeSch would score midway through
the period for the Royals to extend their series
lead, and give the Royals a 2-1 victory.
The next
game will go in Tavistock where the Royals can close
it out on home ice on March 7th.
