Windsor, ON - A three goal third period put
the Windsor Spitfires over the Sarnia Sting 7-5
Sunday afternoon in Windsor.
Sarnia had
a two goal lead in the first as Charlie Sarault
scored on the power play followed by Reid Boucher
with his 27th of the year.
Windsor
would respond with two of their own as Stephen
Alonge and Zac MacQueen tied it at 2-2. Connor
Murphy would break the tie before the end of the
period with the Sting's second power play goal,
scoring his 8th of the year as Sarnia lead 3-2 after
the first.
In the
second, Windsor would take their first lead of the
game after Kerby Rychel and Michael Clarke scored to
put Windsor on top 4-3. But the lead would last only
16 seconds as Sarault would pick up his second of
the game, tying it at 3-3. Ludvig Rensfeldt would
put Sarnia back in front nearing the end of the
second, as Sarnia had a 5-4 lead after two.
In the
third, Rychel would pick up is second of the game to
tie it at 5-5 just 50 seconds into the period. Brady
Vail would give Windsor their second lead of the
game, and with an empty net Ben Johnson would seal
it with a goal to make it a 7-5 final.
Brandon
Hope had the start allowed 5 goals on 26 shots
before being pulled at the start of the third. JP
Anderson allowed one goal on 10 shots.
Sarnia
will play their final home game of the season on
Wednesday as they host the Saginaw Spirit.
