London, ON - The Sarnia Sting had a chance to lock
up home ice advantage for the first round of the
playoffs Friday night, but fell just short with a
3-2 loss to the London Knights.
Adrian
Robertson opened the scoring in the first period
with his 10th of the season, but Chris Tierney would
also score his 10th of the season, ending a long
drought of scoreless periods for London, as the game
was tied 1-1 after twenty minutes.
Craig
Hottot would put Sarnia back in front in the second
period until Maxi Domi would score on the power play
to tie the game up again.
The power
play would hurt the Sting again in the third period
as Jared Knight scored midway through the third
period, in what would eventually be the game winning
goal in the 3-2 victory for London.
JP
Anderson made 29 saves in the loss.
Sarnia
still sits in 4th place in the Western Conference,
one point in front of the Saginaw Spirit. The Sting
will have one more chance to get home ice advantage,
taking on the Plymouth Whalers Saturday night in the
final regular reason game.
