Point
Edwards PeeWee Blackhawks hosted East Lambton in
Lambton-Middlesex league action and came away with a
6-0 win with Hendrick Lindhout getting the shut-out.
The
East Lambton team seen the previous week was a
totally different team at the beginning of the game
as their defense played very well and kept the Hawks
offensive rush at bay. Action was end-to-end
throughout the period with neither goalie seeing
much action and the score held at 0-0 going into the
second.
East
Lambton got into penalty trouble early in the period
but the Hawks couldn’t capitalize to take the lead.
Mid-way through the period, the three penalty kills
were taking its toll on the East Lambton team as the
Point got two goals in less than two minutes by Best
and Young with assists going to Hocking and
Boccanfuso respectively. Best put in his second of
the game off a Riddell blue-line slap shot just as
the period ended to give the Point a commanding 3-0
lead going into the third.
The
third period was all Hawks as the previous periods
penalties and the face-pace wore down the East
Lambton team. The Hawks managed to get three more
goals early in the period with Best getting his
third, Young getting his second in a scramble in
front of the net and Lamore getting his first to
give the Point a 6-0 win.
The
Hawks next game is at home on Saturday November 12th
@ 6pm versus Strathroy.
