The
injury plagued Sting took on the Sun County
Panthers Friday night in Essex and lost 7 –
0. The Sting found themselves down 4 goals
after the first period, and never
recovered. It was a tough game for the
Sting.
The Lambton Jr. Sting AAA
Minor Atom team faced off against Waterloo
on Saturday at the RBC Centre and
unfortunately was dealt a 5-3 loss. Ethan
Langford led the team with a strong
performance in net. The Sting opened the
game with a quick goal from Tristen Konrad
which was assisted by Blake Butler and Nolan
Rannie. The second period saw Waterloo
score 3 power play goals in a row putting
the Sting down 3 – 1. Waterloo opened the
third period of play with a goal, but
Tristen Konrad quickly replied with his 2nd
goal of the game on a pass from Kaleb
Edlington. In the 3rd both teams
notched another goal with Sarnia’s coming
from Nolan Rannie, assisted by Evan Wammes.
On Sunday afternoon, the
Lambton Jr. Sting AAA Minor Atom faced their
third loss of the weekend against the
Hamilton Reps. Despite the hard work of Adam
Mino in net, the Hamilton Reps went up by 2
goals after the first period of play. The
Sting had a few good chances to score around
the net but were unable to capitalize.
Nolan Rannie finally put the Sting on the
board burying a beautiful power play goal
from Blake Butler, but the Hamilton Reps
responded with two more goals to end the
second 4 – 2. During the third period of
play, the Hamilton Reps added to their lead
with 2 more goals until Tyler Steeves scored
a top shelf power play goal with an assist
going to Christopher Scott. The Hamilton
Reps added one more goal to finish the game
at 7 – 2.
