The Squires sunk their ship and downed the Goderich Pirates

In WOHA Senior AA Hockey league action in Petrolia the Squires defeated the Goderich Pirates by a score of 8 to 3.

The Squires scored two goals in the first and three in both the second and third period.  The Pirates went scoreless in the first period and added a pair in the third.

Don Veenema and Chase Clark each scored two goals in the win for the Squires with singles by Jason McPhail, Ryan Chapman, Mark Allen and James Edgar.

Scoring for the Pirates were Matt MacPhee, Glen McCarron and Dave Meriam.

Brad Holborough earned the win in net with a total of 35 saves. Pirate duties were share by Chris Abbey and Derick Mitchel with a combine total of 25 saves.

Goderich went 1 for 8 in powerplay opportunities, Petrolia went 1 for 4.

The Squires are sitting in third place in the South Division Standings with a total of 5 wins and 4 losses.

The Squires are on the road on Saturday Nov 12 to Milverton.  Next home game is Friday November 18 at 8:00 pm vs the Clinton Radars at the Greenwood Recreation Centre.
