The Lambton Junior Sting Minor PeeWee AAA were on the ice for 2 away games this past weekend, losing by a close 4 – 3 margin to the Brantford 99ers and settling for a 2 – 2 tie in Hamilton on Sunday afternoon.

On Saturday, in Brantford, the Sting would fall behind early and find themselves trailing by a 1 – 0 margin, but Dante Fuoco would tie the score at 1 with assists going to Josh Vale and Cameron Rombouts before the first period would end.  Brantford would open a 3 – 1 lead in the 2nd period and take a 4 – 1 lead at the beginning on the 3rd period and Lambton would find themselves in the difficult position of being down by 3 in the 3rd period.  The boys would battle hard and Cam Rombouts would score a goal assisted by Dante Fuoco to narrow the margin to 4 – 2.  Dante Fuoco would score a late goal on the power play assisted by Joey Ferrera and Alec Trusler to make things interesting, but time would expire with the Sting taking a 4 – 3 loss.

In Hamilton on Sunday afternoon the boys were anxious to get back in the win column and jumped out to a strong start in the first period as Theo Crombeen would score a power play goal assisted by Cameron Adam and Lucas Knowles to give the Sting a 1 – 0 lead.  Hamilton would score a late 1st period power play goal to tie the score at 1.  Lambton would continue to press the play in the 2nd period and would be rewarded as Cameron Adam would drive to the goal and score on a nice feed from behind the net by Theo Crombeen.  Joey Ferrera would also pick up an assist on the play.  The Sting would get into some penalty trouble in the 3rd period and Hamilton would take advantage to tie the game at 2.  There would be no more scoring the rest of the way and the boys would settle for the 2 – 2 tie.
