October 13

On Thursday October 13 at the Germain Arena the Jr. Sting Major Atom MD defeated the Oakridge Aeros by a score of 11 - 0.

Cameron Stevens and Stevie Schaefer looked sharp as they shutout the visitors in what turned out to be a lopsided affair. The newly formed Oakridge team struggled to get quality scoring chances against the Jr. Sting's stingy defense while Sarnia had 7 different goal scorers.

Ryan Eyre started the scoring on a breakaway feed from Collin Zimmer, Tyler Talbot-Ellis bulged the twine shortly after with Nathan Oliphant getting the assist. Collin Zimmer poked a puck past the Aeors netminder on a goal mouth scramble to complete the first period with Ryan Eyre assisting.

In the second Tyler Talbot-Ellis got his second of the game unassisted, Mat Waun scored from Zimmer and Damon Skinn-Wai, Kaz Gudelis banged in a one-timer setup by Ryan Eyre, Collin Zimmer got his second of the contest unassisted, Ian Bailey scored from Kaz Gudelis and Ryan Eyre, Mat Waun got his second of the game from Spencer Baillie and Collin Zimmer while Greg Ross found the back of the net with the assists going to Nathan Oliphant and Tyler Talbot-Ellis.

In the third period Greg Ross struck again on a nifty wrap-around. Damon Skinn-Wai and Mathew Waun were awarded assists on the play. Kaz Gudelis was selected as both the coach's player of the game and the parents player of the game for his hard work.

The Jr. Sting will next take part in the Ace Bailey tournament in Stoney Creek on the weekend of October 21,22,23.
