Sarnia Sting Brandon Maxwell closed the door on former team

KITCHENER; The Sarnia Sting shut out the Kitchener Rangers by a score of 3 - 0 Friday night in Kitchener.  Sarnia's netminder Brandon Maxwell earned his first shutout of the season and second win against his former team. 

The Sting scored 2 goals in the first period with Anthony DeAngelo scored the first unassisted on a powerplay at 4:32.  Brett Ritchie scored the second five minutes later assisted by Craig Hottot.  Third and final goal of the game came in the second period with Nickolas Latta scoring from Ryan Kujawinski and RJ Mahalak.  

The Sting outshot the Rangers 32 - 25.  Sting went 1 for 5 on the powerplay, Kitchener went 0 for 4.

Brandon Maxwell earned the first start of the game, Craig Hottot was second and Kitchener's Eric Ming was third.

The Sting are back at home tonight for their 3rd game in 3 nights hosting the Belleville Bulls.  This is the only time the Bulls will be in Sarnia this season.  Game time 7:05 at the RBC Centre.
