Point Atom’s Continue to Show
Dominance with 7-0 win
The Point Edward Atom
Blackhawks played their second away game in as many days
when they traveled to Parkhill and took home a
convincing 7-0 win.
The Hawks came out totally
opposite to the day previous as they were on the attack
right from the initial puck drop. Parkhill was having
trouble keeping the Hawks out of their end and midway
through the first, Haagsma set up Canie to give the
Point a 1-0 lead and the Point never looked back. Within
a minute the Hawks struck again before Parkhill knew
what was coming when Noah Young set up Noah Best to make
it 2-0. The Point were not done yet when Terpstra and
Potvin help set up Edlington to make it 3-0 to end the
period.
Going into the second, the
Point did not let up. Parkhill didn’t seem to be able to
gain their composure going into the second as the Point
continued to pressure the Parkhill team hard and
Edlington and Caley were able to score within the first
three minutes of the period. Midway through the period
Lewis Haagsma slammed in a rebound from a Bryce Potvin
shot for his first of the year to extend the Point’s
lead to 6-0. Before the period ended Canie put in his
second of the game to end the period at 7-0.
Parkhill was able to get
things together in the third as they prevented the Point
from scoring and the game ended 7-0 with Bailey Reinders
getting the shut-out.
