Point Edward Atoms Rock the Point with a 10-0 Win

The Point Edward Blackhawk Atom hockey team hosted the Ilderton Jets(Blue) hockey squad and came out with a convincing 10-0 win in Lambton-Middlesex league action.

The first period began with the Hawks shooting out of the starting gate ready to play, which caught the Jets flat-footed. Kaeden Canie started his outstanding seven goal outing two minutes into the period to make it 1-0. Canie was on fire as he scored 3 goals within the first five minutes of the period and added one more for good measure by the time the period ended.

Going into the second with a 5-0 lead, the Point’s defense put up a wall, which looked to frustrate the Jet’s team. The entire Blackhawk’s team showed some excellent passing and stick handling skills as they scored at will to make it 10-0 by the end of the second.

The Ilderton team never gave up and where able to gather their composure and battle the Hawks head-to-head, preventing the Point team from scoring in the third. Reinders and the defense continued to play strong with Ilderton’s improved play but they couldn’t get a goal and Reinders was able to get the shut out.
