Drouin takes
silver at National Meet

The Sarnia Athletics Southwest
Track and Field Club recently sent several
athletes to the Junior National Track and Field
Championships, hosted in Abbotsford, British
Columbia. Accompanied by Coach Joel Skinner, the
team had several top 8 performances. Derek
Drouin topped the list, claiming a sliver medal
in the Men's High Jump, clearing the bar at
2.07m.
Also in attendance was Maggie Mullen, who took 4th
place in the Women's Javelin with a best throw
of 43.43m. She also competed in the Women's
Discus and Shot Put. Casey Garbaty finished in 5
th place in the Men's Javelin with a throw
of 55.58m. Haley Cadwallader finished 7th
in the Women's 2000m Steeplechase with a time of
7:34.56. Adrienne Payne took 8th
place in the Women's Heptathlon. Rounding out
the athletes was Justin Keating, who
participated in the Men's 100m, and Emily King
in Women's Javelin.
The Sarnia ASW Track and Field
Club would like to thank all of the athletes who
participated throughout the summer for their
hard work and dedication to the sport. The Club
