The SBHL season got underway with a very successful opening night at the Clearwater Arena.  The league began with the Cleveland Steamers completely dismantling Jeff Calvank's Team in what turned out to be a one sided event.  John Faulkner started the scoring 11:42 into the 1st half with the assists going to Zach MacQueen and Tyler Hopkins, then just under 2 minutes later Steamers Captain D'arcy Brown made it 2-0, Hiller and Matt Abercrombie each picked up assists. Tyler Hopkins would make 3-0 before the end of the 1st half, MacQueen and Faulkner had the assists giving all 3 players 2 points on night. At the end of the half the Steamers led 3-0 and out shot their opponents 13-3.

The 2nd half would be no kinder to Jeff Calvanks team as they were out shot 14-2 and allowed 3 more goals for a 6-0 loss and were outshot 27-5. John Faulkner had a goal and 2 assist as did Hiller. MacQueen , Brown and Abercrombie had 2 point nights, each getting a goal and an assist. No penalties were called in this game.

Feed Us Fajitas faced off with the Ale-ers in a low scoring affair, Ale-ers goalie Jake Dubois would face 20 shots allowing only one goal, but that was enough to give Feed Us Fajitas the 1-0 win, outshooting the Ale-ers 20-7.

The 8pm game on the Red rink featured the Crazy Canucks Vs Levy's Team, Andrew Veale would start the scoring early, just 2:15 into the game his shot beat Passingham to gain the 1-0 lead on only the 2nd shot of the game. 13:50 into the 1st half Fleming gave his team the 2-0 lead which they would take into the 2nd half. In the second half Passingham shut the door over and over again flashing the leather and stopping all 12 shots in the 2nd half to keep his team in it, but the offense just wasn't there and Levy's team would hang on for the 2-0 win. Shots were 27-11 in favour of Levy's team.

In the final game of the night,  Mike Huard's Team would lead the Yellow Buckets 3-1 after 1 as Chris Sully scored 2 in 6:39 to jump out to the 2-0 lead, then with 2:24 left in the half, Marty Davidson would add one to extend that lead to 3-0. However the Yellow Buckets would make the attempt to come back as Curtis Crombeen would score with just 1:10 left in the 1st bringing his team back to within 2 goals. Just under 5 min into the 2nd, Crombeen would score again to cut the lead to one. Then with 8:05 left, Crombeen again to complete the Hat Trick would tie it up at 3-3. But after clawing there way back into this one, the Yellow buckets would give up 2 more before it was done losing 5-3.
