Sting News:
Steven Stamkos named the February OHL Player of the Month

Stamkos was the OHL’s top scorer in February with 13 goals and nine assists for 22 points in 13 games. He enjoyed five multiple point games, including a six point effort (one goal, five assists) against the Saginaw Spirit on February 3 and a five point game (four goals, one assist) on February 8 against the Owen Sound Attack. Stamkos, who turned 18 on February 7, enjoyed a five-game point scoring streak in February that resulted in seven goals and 10 points. The Unionville, ON native is the top rated prospect for the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. He is seventh in the OHL scoring race with *52 goals and 42 assists for 94 points in 56 games.  (as of this game his goal total is 55)

Coming up this week the Sting play their final 3 games of the regular season.  It is an important week as they continue to jockey for a playoff spot between Guelph, Plymouth and Saginaw.  Each team has just one point separating the four teams.  On Thursday they host the Erie Otters for their final home game of the regular season (game time 7:35), then Friday they travel to Kitchener and Saturday they head over the border to Plymouth.

Fan Bus! Sting at Plymouth

Due to an overwhelming response they have added a second bus for the trip heading to Plymouth to watch the Sting take on the Whalers on March 15th. This is the last game of the season and is certain to have playoff seeding implications on the line. Cost of the trip is $45 which includes your game ticket and transportation to and from the Compuware Centre in Plymouth. To book your spot visit the SSEC box office or call 519-541-1717 to order by phone.
