highlights.....
Before the game began a
special cheque
presentation was made to
the Sunshine Foundation.
Funds were raised at the
annual Sting Tournament
for Sunshine golf
tournament. Total
contribution that was
presented was for the
amount of $13,700.00.
Sting
announced this week that
the annual Teddy Bear
Toss will be held on
Saturday December 2.
The public is encourage
to bring new Teddy Bears
to the game to be tossed
after the first home
goal. These
gifts reach the needs of
many local charities.
The primary recipient is
the Salvation Army
receiving 1,800 each
year. Because of this
event many needy
children will receive a
new gift at Christmas
when they would normally
go without. The Teddy
Bear Toss is an exciting
event that everyone
looks forward to each
year.

Toronto, ON – The
Ontario Hockey League
announced on Friday that
it has suspended Sarnia
Sting forward Devin
DiDiomete 5 games as the
result of an incident
stemming from the
November 2nd game vs.
the Guelph Storm.

Draft
Prospects
of the
Month
Toronto,
ON – The
Canadian
Hockey
league
announced
earlier
this
week the
NAPA
Draft
Prospects
of the
Month
for
October,
2007.
Each
month
the
Canadian
Hockey
League &
NAPA
Auto
Parts
recognizes
the top
draft
eligible
player
from
each of
the
three
leagues
in the
CHL for
the
upcoming
2008 NHL
Entry
Draft
based on
their
play
over the
course
of the
month.
For the
OHL
Steven
Stamkos
was
presented
with the
NAPA
Auto
Parts
prize
pack.
In 13
games
last
month,
Sarnia
Sting
centre
Steven
Stamkos
led the
team
with 13
goals
and 11
assists
for 24
points
in 13
games.
The
17-year-old
from
Unionville,
Ontario
started
October
with a
six game
point
scoring
streak
that
included
seven
goals
and five
assists.
He
enjoyed
four
three-point
games
and
scored a
pair of
game-winning
goals
for the
Sting
last
month.
Stamkos
will
represent
the OHL
in the
Ontario
segment
of the
ADT
Canada-Russia
