The Sting
got stepped on by the
Greyhounds in Sault Ste
Marie on Wednesday by
taking a 7 - 2 loss.
The Sting opened the
scoring at 10:19 by
Steven Stamkos to take
the lead for the only
time of the game.
Just over a minute later
the Greyhounds stung
back with 3 goals in 34
seconds starting at
11:07, then 11:21 and
the final at 11:41, from
this point on the story
was told. Period
ended 3 - 1 Greyhounds.
In the second the
Greyhounds added their
4th of the game at 9:15.
The Sting managed to
dump in a powerplay goal
at 13:39 by Justin
DiBenedetto. The
Greyhounds answered back
with a powerplay goal at
16:05 and the period
would end with the
Greyhounds leading 5 -
2.
In the third period the
Sault added 2 more
unanswered goals - one
on the power play, to
finish the game with a
final 7 - 2.
The Sting outshot the
Greyhounds by 32 - 30.
The Sting are back in
action with back to back
home games. On
Friday the Barrie Colts
visit the SSEC then on
Saturday Ottawa comes
into town. Both
games begin at 7:30.
