The Sarnia Sting won
their 3rd straight at
home on Friday night
with a final 4 - 2
against the Barrie
Colts. Justin
Dibenedetto scored the
first goal on the
powerplay. Barrie
answered back less than
two minutes later to
tie. The first
period would end with
both sides even with 1
apiece. In the
second period Matt Smyth
would score his first of
the season at 4:15 into
the period. Jared
Gomes would add the
second of the period
that would lead them
going into the 3rd
period with a score of 3
- 1.
Barrie would come within
with a goal three and a
half minutes into the
period, but the Sting
dug in and Jared Gomes
scored his second of the
night at 12:11 to finish
the scoring for the
night giving the Sting
the 4 - 2 win.
The Sting
outshot the Colts 33 -
16. Sting went 1/8
on the powerplay - Colts
went 0/4.
The Sting are back in
action on Saturday Oct
13 at the SSEC hosting
Ottawa with a game start
at 7:35 pm.
