The Sting celebrated
their 5th straight win
on home ice on Thursday
at the SSEC with a final
5 - 3 win
over the Erie Otters.
In the first period
Harrison Reed scored the
lone goal in the period
assisted by Justin
Dibenedetto and Daniel
Lombardi. The
Sting went up 4 - 1
after the 2nd periods
with goals by Steve
Stamkos from Steve
Ferry, Colt Kennedy from
Stamkos and Devin
DiDiomete and the final
and his second of the
night by Harrison Reed
from Steve Whitely. The
Otters would score their
first goal in the last
minute of the period on
a short handed goal by
Justin Hodgman.
In the third Stamkos
added his second goal to
take the 5 - 1 lead
after which things got
heated up as several
fights broke out.
Erie would add 2 more
goal, the first short
handed and the second on
the powerplay. But the
Otters ran out of steam
and the game ended with
a final 5 - 3 for the
Sting.
Shots on
net Sarnia 45 - Erie 26.
Sarnia went 1 for 6 on
the powerplay and Erie
went 1 for 7.
The Sting are on the
road for the next 3
games with games in
Mississauga on Friday,
Brampton on Sunday and
Plymouth next Wednesday.
They return home next
Friday when they host
the Saginaw Spirit at
7:35 at the SSEC.
