Sarnia Sting 6 vs
Oshawa Generals 2

The Sting
were at home on Friday
as they got back on
track with a win 6 - 2
win at home over the
Oshawa Generals.
Sarnia took a 3 - 0 lead
after the 1st period
with 2 shorthanded goals
by Jared Goves and Colt
Kennedy putting it in
for the 3rd. In
the second period Steven
Stamkos scored the lone
goal of the period on
the powerplay to take a
4 - 0 lead.
In the third Oshawa lit
up the scoreboard when
league leading goal
scorer John Taveres
scored his 8th goal of
the season while on a
powerplay. The
powerplays continued as
Sarnia added the next 2
goals with the man
advantage, the first by
Justin DiBenedetto from
Steven Stamkos and Devin
DiDiomete and DiDomete
put the final Sting goal
from Harrison Reed.
Taveres would finalize
the game with his 2nd of
the night and 9th of the
season on another
powerplay.
Sarnia
went 3 for 11 on the
powerplays with Oshawa
going 2 for 14.
Tomi
Karhunen went the
distance for Sarnia
making a total of 25
saves. Oshawa
Generals goalie Kakub
Kovar made a total of 30
saves.

announce the trade of
defenceman Chris Mifflen
to the Belleville Bulls
in exchange for a 5th
round pick in the 2009
OHL Priority Selection
as well as a conditional
draft pick.
The Sting are back in
action on Saturday when
they host the Sudbury
Wolves in their only
appearance in Sarnia.
