The Sting dropped
another game on Sunday
night losing their 4th
game in a row to the
Kitchener Rangers with a
final score of 4 - 2.
The Sting
scored the first goal
and the only goal in the
first period on the
powerplay by Jared
Gomes. In the
second Justin Azevedo of
the Rangers tied things
up heading into the
third. Just :20
seconds into the third
the Rangers scored the
first of 3 consecutive
goals to take the 4 - 1
lead. Scoring his
second was Justin
Azevedo with Matt
Halischuck and Thomas
Battani adding singles.
The Sting manage to
score when the Rangers
had taken a 5 minute
major. Harrison
Reed scored the power
play goal. The
Sting pulled their
goalie in the final
minute and with a 6 - 4
powerplay but they
couldn't capitalize as
the game ended to give
the Rangers the 4 - 2
win.
Sarnia was outshot by
Kitchener by a total of
43 - 33. Tomi
Karhunen went the
distance in net for the
Sting and Mavric Parks
earned the win for the
Rangers. The Sting
are now 1 - 4 - the
Rangers are 3 - 0 for
the season.
The Sting
are back in action next
weekend on Friday and
Saturday when they host
Oshawa on Friday and
Sudbury on Saturday.
Both games begin at 7:35
at the SSEC.
