Sarnia Sting vs Plymouth Whalers
Pre-Season
 


At the SSEC the Sting out shot the Whalers by 40 to 29 and took the win with a final score of 9 - 4.
5 Sting goals were scored on powerplays and 3 of the 4 goals for the Whalers were also scored on powerplays.

In the first period the Sting led by a score of 5 - 2.  Scoring for the Sting were Matt Martin, Steven Stamkos,
Jake Guindon, Daniel Lombardi and Justin DiBenedetto.  Wes Cunningham and AJ Jenks scored for the Whalers.
In the second the Sting added 5 more goals with Harrison Reed, Matt Martin, Brett Oliphant and Steven Stampkos
scoring.  The Whalers score a single by Chris Terry.  Score after 2 periods of play Sarnia 9 - Whalers 3.
In the third period Plymouth scored a single late in the period to round out the score board with Jozef Sladok scoring.

The Three Stars of the night as selected by Dave Borody of the Sarnia Observer were:

The Sting will travel to Plymouth tonight in their final home/home series with the Whalers.
Their final pre-season home game will be on Friday September 14 against the Windsor Spitfires.
Game time 7:30 at the SSEC.
