STAMKOS VS. JEFFREY

Sting Star vs. Local Boy In Shootout For Charity

It will be a match up featuring two of the league’s top snipers next Thursday night when the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds visit the SSEC to take on the Sting.

During the first intermission of this key Western Conference match-up Sarnia Sting forward, Steven Stamkos, the consensus top rated player for the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, will take on Greyhounds Captain and Courtright native, Dustin Jeffrey, in a shootout for charity.

Each player will have five shots on the opposing team’s back up goalie for that night and the winner will win $1000 for the charity of his choice. The other participant will have $500 donated to his chosen charity in his name.

Stamkos will be playing for the Canadian Cancer Society while Jeffrey will be contributing his portion to the MS Society of Canada.

The funds to be donated have been made possible through a generous sponsorship by Stokes Inland and Co-operators Insurance agent Franco Fillia. The Sting would like to thank these two partners for their ongoing support.
