Sarnia Sting 4 at Barrie Colts 2

After taking a 4 - 1 loss the previous night the Sting bounced back and defeated the Barrie Colts 4 - 2.

Greg Sutch opened the scoring in the first period by scoring his first goal of the season assisted by Matt Martin and Steve Ferry.  Justin DiBenedetto added his 14th of the season with Jamie Arniel and Miroslav Preisinger assisted to put the Sting up 2 - 0 heading into the second.

The only goal scored in the second period was a powerplay goal by Mark Katic that gave the Sting a 3 - 0 lead.  Justin DiBenedetto and Steve Ferry assisted on the powerplay goal.

Barrie first goal came at 2:40 into the third but Matt Martin answered back at 3:10 to widen the lead 4 - 1.  Action continued and the Sting stood strong until Barrie scored their final goal on a powerplay at 18:58.  Time ran out giving the Sting the 4 - 2 win.

Total shots on goal for Sarnia - 33, Barrie 35.  Sarnia went 1 for 9 on the powerplay, Barrie went 1 for 8.  Dan Spence was in net earning his 5th win of the season.

Next up the Sting were back on the road heading to Sudbury for their 3rd game in 3 days.



Sarnia Sting 3 at Sudbury Wolves 6

Road Weary? The Sudbury Wolves took a bite out of the Sting going up 4 - 0 after the first period of play. Two of the goals were on the powerplay.  The Sting's first goal came at 2:51 in the second period on a powerplay with Steve Ferry scoring assisted by Jordan Hill.  Justin DiBenedetto scored a second powerplay goal at 6:57 from Greg Sutch and Jamie Arniel.  The period ended with the Sting trailing 4 - 2.

In the 3rd Sudbury scored first at 4:25 then less than a minute later added goal #6.  The Sting continued to struggle and came up with another powerplay goal at 14:39 with Matt Martin scoring from Mark Katic and Justin DiBenedetto.  Time ran out giving Sudbury the 6 - 3 win.

Sarnia outshot the Wolves by a total of 41 - 29.  Shayne Campbell was in net for the loss. 

The Sting return home and resume action on Friday Nov 21 when they host the Sault Ste Marie Greyhounds at the SSEC with a 7:30 puck drop.
