Sarnia Sting 4 at Mississauga St. Michaels's Majors 2

The Sting ended their 3 game weekend with
a win in Mississauga. The Majors opened the scoring in
the first period with ex-Sting Jared Gomes scoring.
Second period saw Sarnia's Justin DiBenedetto score his 17th
of the season from Jamie Arniel and Matt Martin on a
powerplay. The period would end with both sides even
with 1 each.
Third period action saw Matt Martin score back to back goals
the first at :52 seconds into the period and the second at
11:44 on a powerplay. Mississauga would narrow the gap
scoring late in the period at 19:17. With the Major's
goalie sitting on the bench in the final minute Martin
scored his third goal of the game to seal the deal and
take the 4 - 2 win.
Mississauga outshot the sting
by 35 - 29, Dan Spence was in net for the win.
The Sting went 2 - 1 on the
weekend with a win at home on Friday against Sault Ste
Marie, a loss to the Belleville Bulls in a close match that
ended with a 3 - 2 score and finally their win against
Mississauga.
Next up the Sting take a mid-week road trip up to Sault Ste
Marie on Wednesday then back at home on Friday the 28th when
they host Plymouth for a 7:30 game start. |
