Sarnia Sting vs Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds
November 7, 2008
The Sting outplayed the Greyhounds but came up short taking a 3 - 2 loss
ending their 3 game winning streak.
After the first period both sides were
even with a single each. Matt Martin scored for the Sting assisted
by Jamie Arniel and Steve Ferry. Second period the Greyounds took
the lead scoring the single goal in the period and in the third Sarnia
came back and tied with Jamie Arniel Scoring assisted by Miroslav
Preisinger. Four minutes later at 15:01 the Sault scored the game
winner and held on to take the win.
Sarnia outshot the Sault by 36 - 19, Dan
Spence was in net for the Sting taking the loss.
The Sting are back in action tonight at the SSEC when they host the
Kitchener Rangers, game time 7:30. The Sting will be wearing their
special "thorwback" jerseys that will pay honour to both the Sarnia
Legionnaires hockey club as well as the Royal Canadian Legion.
the doors will open at 6:00 pm rather than 6:30 pm for its game this
Saturday November 8th vs. the Kitchener Rangers.
The move is to accommodate fans who would like to sign a banner that the
Sting will have set up that will be mailed to our troops.
The Sting would encourage as many fans as possible to send along their
well wishes on the banner that will be on display.
Country recording artist Julian Austin will be on hand
to perform his song "The Red and White" a tribute to all Canadian
Military members.
The Sting are encouraging all fans to wear Red Saturday night as a sign
of support for all the men and women currently deployed on peace keeping
missions.
Following the game there will be a free
skate with the Sting open to all attending the game.
