Sarnia Sting 4 - Kitchener Rangers 3
The Rangers opened the
scoring in the first period at 3:22 on a soft goal that had
taken a strange bounce that got by Sting netminder Dan
Spence.

Sarnia came back
at 7:55 to tie things up with Justing
DiBenedetto scoring his 13th goal of the season
assisted by Jamie Arniel. At 18:11 in the
first period Matt Martin scored a shorthanded
goal with Mark Katic and Daniel Lombardi
assisting to put the Sting up 2 - 1. |
Second period saw Sarnia
score two unanswered goals to widen their lead to 4 - 1.
Daniel Lombardi scored the first goal with assistance from
Steve Reese and Matt Martin and Marcus Pepe scored his first
goal of the season with help from Michael Neal and Greg
Sutch.
Third period action put the
fans on the edge as Kitchener scored 2 late period goals the
first at 17:45 on a powerplay and at 19:21, but the Sting
held on to take the win.
The Sting outshot the Rangers
by 40 - 37 and the Rangers went 1 for 5 in the powerplay,
the Sting went 0 for 4.
The Sting head out for a 3
game road trip starting on Friday Nov 14 in Oshawa, Saturday
in Barrie and then on Sunday they are in Sudbury. Next
home game in on Friday November 21 when the Sault Greyhounds
visit the SSEC for a game start at 7:30pm. |
