Once again the Sting will wear a special jersey in honour to both
the great Sarnia Legionnaires teams as well as a tribute to the
wonderful work done by the Royal Canadian Legion for all of our
veterans. Following the game, the jerseys will be once again
auctioned in support of the local Sarnia Legion as they continue to
work to assist veterans of past conflict. The jersey auction will be
conducted on the Sarnia Sting website

the Kitchener Rangers will be wearing commemorative jerseys in
tribute to the military personnel around the world.

THE LAMBTON COUNTY MILITARY FAMILY SUPPORT
GROUP ARE ASKING ALL ATTENDEES OF THE SARNIA STING GAME ON NOVEMBER
8th TO WEAR RED IN SUPPORT OF THE SACRIFICES AND EFFORTS OF CANADIAN
TROOPS AROUND THE WORLD.
“The ‘Red Friday” campaign has been a round for some time, but even
though this is a Saturday game we are hopeful that Sarnia, and even
Kitchener fans, will show support for our men and women overseas and
at home. This gesture of wearing red on November 8th will be very
meaningful to the families also,” says Linda Smith, Co-Founder of
the Lambton County Military Family Support Group.
There will be a pre game ceremony to pay tribute to both the
veterans and current serving members of the military. Six distinct
areas of involvement for Canadian Troops will be represented:
Afghanistan, Sudan, Bosnia, Korea, World War II and even World War
I. Jack Babcock, the only surviving veteran of World War I will send
a special message via video during the pre-game ceremony.
The pre-game ceremony will also feature Canadian country recording
artist Julian Austin performing “Red and White” his passionate
