Sarnia Sting 4 at Owen Sound 1

First win for the Sting!
Owen Sound started things off in the first period with what turned out
to be their only goal of the game when they scored the first goal on a
powerplay. Sarnia answered back with their own powerplay goal
later in the period by
Nathan Chiarlitti from Jamie Arniel and
Steve Ferry.
In the second period at 1:26 Sarnia took the
lead with Ben O'Quinn scoring assisted by Brett Appio. Action
continued and the period ended with Sarnia leading 2 - 1.
Third period action saw Sarnia scoring late
in the period at 19:07 on a powerplay to secure the win. Ben
O'Quinn scored from Daniel Lombardi and Steve Ferry. In the last
minute of play the Attack pulled their goalie in the comeback attempt
but Jamie Arniel put the puck into the empty net to seal the deal giving
the Sting their first win of the season with a final score of 4 - 1.
Matt Hache was in net for the Sting making a
total of 34 saves. Powerplay conversions for the Sting was 2 for
8, for Owen Sound 1 for 4.
The Sting are back in action next weekend with 2 back to back games the
first on Friday Oct 3 against Sudbury and on Saturday Oct 4 against
Brampton. Both games begin at 7:30 at the SSEC.
