Port Huron Ultimate Club Secures First Place

The Port Huron Ultimate Club (6-0) found themselves in an unusual situation at the beginning of their match against the Megalomaniacs (4-2).

After falling behind 5-1 at the beginning of the game, the Americans stormed back to close the half up 8-7.  They continued strong consistent play on offence to a 15-11 victory, securing their first place finish in the regular season.

Spread Condor (0-7) were seeking their first win this week against Totally Unfit (3-3).  On the hottest night of the summer so far, there were no recorded cases of heat stroke.  Totally Unfit’s rookie of the year candidate Alex Holt led the team on offence to a 15-6 victory.  With a final week bye Spread Condor ha played their final regular season game.  This year they ran into the bad luck of having to of their top players out all summer with injuries.

Red Army (4-2) continued their late season run with a win against the Cookie Monsters (5-1).  Late in the game down 12-9, Red Army made a 6-1 run to a 15-13 win.  Jen Thomm was an effective deep threat for the Cookie Monsters all game.  Red Army used a combination of man-on-man and zone defenses, and on offence Mark Thompson was able to stretch the field with impressive deep catches.

The match between Hungate’s Mom (3-3) and the Ultimate Suspects (2-4) has been rescheduled to a later date.
