Port Huron Ultimate Club (3-0) continued their
undefeated season with a 15-13 win over Ultimate
Suspects (1-1). The Suspects played with only 7 people
on their team but managed to hold the lead for most of
the game. Brian Jubenville had a standout performance
in the losing cause. In the end it was P.H.U.C.'s
ability to score an upwind point that turned the game in
their favour.
Totally Unfit (1-2) played the Megalomaniacs (1-1) in
another tight match. Totally Unfit had no women subs
all game and had to play short-handed for the second
half. Melissa Gough played excellent on offence as she
helped her team beat the under-manned Totally Unfit team
15-10. Karen Slater played well on both sides of
the field for Totally Unfit despite having no
substitutions.
In the battle of the winless teams, the Pylons (0-3)
came out on top of Spread Condor (0-3) 15-6. For
Spread Condor the score did not reflect the team’s
effort on the field. For the Pylons, Kelly Ambrose was
able to get open and score quite a few points.
Travis
“The Oaf” Parker did all he could to prevent his team
Hungate’s Mom (2-1) from falling to Red Army (1-1), but
his team ended up losing 15-8. In one play
Parker was able to tip a hammer pass over two Red Army
defenders and catch it on the other side. For the
winning team it was Ann “Shalanova” Shalanski putting in
a strong game. |
