Hill with assistance by former

All the players in the
game have been chosen based on 3 criteria:

The game is a way to
reward these student athletes, and showcase the best

County. It allows them to show off their talents and
have some fun. Many of the players that played in
last years game have gone on to play at both Junior
C and Junior B levels this season.
The number of players selected by each team is based
on the teams position in the standings
1st – 4th place teams = 1 goalie each
1st – 2nd place teams = 5 forwards &
2 defencemen
3rd – 5th place teams = 4 forwards &
2 defencemen
6th place team = 2 forwards & 2
defencemen
All schools are represented. Players
will be divided into two teams; Teams will be
organized so that players from each school will be
on both all-star teams. The goal is to make it fun
for the players, along with setting up some mini-
rivalries amongst team-mates, as well as keeping the
game competitive. At the end of the game, all
players will receiver their individual LSSAA
All-Star medals, as well as receive pizza and pop in
the dressing rooms.

game vs. an LSSAA Teachers All-star team. The team
then went on to compete in the All-Star Classic
Tournament in Toronto at York University.
LSSAA
LEAGUE INFORMATION
* This is the 22nd
season of LSSAA boys high school hockey in Lambton
County.
* The league officially
began play in the fall of 1986. That first season,
the teams were St.Clair, St.Patrick’s, LCCVI, North
Lambton, SCITS and Watford.
* From the beginning,
the following have been the aims of LSSAA boys
hockey;
- to provide a
school-sports type atmosphere for young men to play
hockey in, while not making demands on the student
which would interfere with academic success.
-
to develop school spirit around a
competitive hockey league that promotes healthy
competition in Lambton County for this age group of
boys.
-
to instil in the athletes a high
level of dedication to team, school & sport, while
encouraging a high degree of sportsmanship.
-
to provide an opportunity to
represent their school and their community with
pride in a league that does not have the demands
placed on them by OHF teams.
* One of the major rule differences
between high school hockey and OMHA hockey, is that
fighting is not allowed in high school play.
* Over time, LSSAA has added these
two events which are now held annually;
- The League All-Star Game – Which
first began in 1998
- The Lambton Invitational
Tournament – Which first began in 2003, hosted by
SCITS, this past season was hosted by St.Patrick’s.
* Over the years, along with LSSAA
league play, league championship teams from Lambton
County have gone on to compete at SWOSSAA and OFSAA
Championships.

HISTORY
OF THE LSSAA LAMBTON CUP
LSSAA
boys high school hockey in Lambton County officially
began play in the fall of 1986. The actual Cup
traces its roots to Switzerland that same year. In
1986-87, the silver Cup was presented to the
St.Clair Boys hockey team at the conclusion of a
tour of exhibition games in that country. Brought
back to Sarnia, Al Duffy (then a manager of St.Clair
hockey) had the cup mounted on its wood base. The
cup was presented to the champions of LSSAA boys
high school hockey in 1986/87, that first year of
LSSAA hockey, to the St.Clair Colts. It was recently
refurbished to its current status.
