North Lambton scored two
goals in the 1st, one while short-handed, before
St.Pats tallied.
Scoring for NLSS were Kevin VanHaaren and Mark
VanMoorsel & for SPHS was Brett Deley.
NLSS's Mason Bresett
scored another before the period was over, to
regain the 2-goal lead (3 to 1).
In the second, SPHS Ryan
Blommers scored to close the lead, however, NLSS
replied with another short-handed goal by Cody
Ulrich to make it 4 to 2.
The teams traded goals
before the period was over, by SPHS Kris
Mandeville, then NLSS Mason Bresett with his
second (5 to 3).
In the third, SPHS drew to
within one again on a goal by Kris Mandeville
(his 2nd). St.Pats failed to capitalize on
numerous power play opportunities in the 2nd &
3rd periods due to solid penalty killing by
NLSS. With just over 2 minutes left in the game,
NLSS's Mark VanMoorsel (his 2nd), got the
insurance goal to put the game away. With only
seconds remaining with the SPHS goalie pulled,
NLSS's Chris Steven scored into an empty net,
making the final score 7 to 4.
