LCCVI took a 3 - 1 win over St. Christopher to earn a spot in
the Final game
in LSSAA Championship game.
In the first period LCCVI scored took a 2 - 0 lead after the
first period of play.
Trevor Duncan from Joel Parker and Brock Hunter scored the first
goal and
Duncan MacSorley from Craig Steadman and Cody McPhail scored the
2nd.
In the second period St. Christopher narrowed the gap when they
scored
their only goal of the game shorthanded by Jesse Drydak assisted
by Brett Thompson
and Thomas Flamminio. Three minutes later LCCVI added goal
number 3 with
Brock Hunter scoring assisted by Joel Parker and Trevor Duncan.
In the third both sides played hard but neither side were able
to score giving
the Lancers the win and a spot in the Championship game.
Earning the win in
net for LCCVI was Eric Steinman.

In the 2nd game of the day
Northern defeated St. Clair with a final score of 4 - 2. Both
sides came out determined for the win. In the first period
neither side scored to head into the second period with 0 - 0
game. St. Clair took the 1 - 0 lead in the second on a
goal scored by Jordan Hurst from Dan Lumley and Kody Ryan. In
the third the Vikings scored the next 3 goals to take the 3 - 1
lead with the first goal scored by Zack MacQueen from Joey Burt.
Alex McFadden scored goal #2 from Colin Epps and Nick Blysnick
and the third goal was scored by Ryan Hunt unassisted. St.
Clair fought back and narrowed the lead 3 - 2 with an unassisted
goal by Adam Cooper with 1:01 left on the clock. As the
time tick off and with just :17 seconds left on the clock Zack
MacQueen scored assisted by Joey Burt to put the game away for
Northern.
Outstanding goal tending at both ends with Chirs Clark in net
for Northern and Mike Ward for St. Clair.

The LSSAA Championship Final, will be held on Wednesday,
March 5 at Sarnia arena at 7:00 pm will feature: (2nd place)
LCCVI Lancers vs. (1st place) Northern Vikings.
The LSSAA league championship is decided in a one-game,
sudden-death, winner takes all event. Admission to the game for
fans is $2.00 advance (tickets available at the two schools) or
$3 at the door.
This will be the third year in a row that these two teams
have met in the league final. Two years ago, NCIV defeated LCCVI
by a score of 2 to 1 in Petrolia. Last year, LCCVI defeated NCIV
by a score of 2 to 0 at Sarnia arena. This season, the teams
have met two times; on November 21, NCIV beat LCCVI by a score
of 2 to 1 in Petrolia, and on January 16, NCIV beat LCCVI by a
score of 4 to 1 at Clearwater arena.
