| After
taking the top spot in the LSSAA
standings going 5 - 0 in the season,
SCITS travelled to Windsor to compete
against Massey for the Boys High School
SWOSSA Baseball Championship title and
came home winning with a final score of
7 - 2.
SCITS was
led by a very strong pitching
performance by Rory Fell who pitched
seven complete innings and added a 2 run
homer in the top of the seventh.
Jeff Drexler led the team with 3 hits
and David Wiles added 2 hits of his own.
The team played an excellent defensive
game. After the game Coach Barry
Vale congratulated his team on winning
with such teamwork and class.
The
team will compete for the LSSAA title.
The title game
had to be postponed and reschedule for
Monday June 1. Game time 3:00 pm.
Because SCITS defeated Windsor, the
winner from this win will move on to
OFSAA to compete in the Western Region
Qualifying round that will take place in
Hamilton. The top 2 teams in the
Western and Eastern Divisions will go on
to the final round that will be played
in Toronto on June 9 - 10. |
