The Jr. Vikings undefeated football season came
to a disappointing finish on Saturday, as
Northern fell to a tough Fighting Irish squad,
20-6, in the LSSAA finals at Norm Perry Park.
The game started on a high note for the
Vikings when their first offensive play, a pitch
pass from 70 yards out, ended with Tyler Annett
taking the ball into the endzone for a major.
Annett's extra point attempt was blocked.
St. Pat's began its scoring near the end of
the 2nd quarter with a 1 yard run and extra
point. The Irish added another touchdown in the
3rd quarter and a 1 point conversion. At 8:00
minutes in the 3rd quarter, St. Pat's added
another major, but were unsuccessful with the
extra point.
The Vikings never gave up and had a few
opportunities late in the game,
but the Irish held firm to win the LSSAA Jr.
Championship, 20-6.

The Jr. Vikings congratulate
the Irish on a hard-fought victory.
The Vikings also wish to thank their fans and
parents for their support throughout the season.
Senior Finals
Northern vs St. Clair
In the Senior Finals the
undefeated Northern Seniors had a tough battle
against the St. Clair Colts
but came out on top with a final score of 14 -
10.
Vikings were trailing 7 - 0 at the end of the
first half. By the end of the third
quarter the
Vikings drove back and were leading 14 - 7.
St. Clair scored a 25 yard field goal
but the Viking held on and finished the game
with a final score of 14 - 10.
This is the eighth LSSAA
playoff championship in nine years for the
Senior Vikings.
