Junior Boys Football

St. Pat's 20, Northern 6
November 1, 2008

The Jr. Vikings undefeated football season came to a disappointing finish on Saturday, as Northern fell to a tough Fighting Irish squad, 20-6, in the LSSAA finals at Norm Perry Park.

The game started on a high note for the Vikings when their first offensive play, a pitch pass from 70 yards out, ended with Tyler Annett taking the ball into the endzone for a major. Annett's extra point attempt was blocked.

St. Pat's began its scoring near the end of the 2nd quarter with a 1 yard run and extra point. The Irish added another touchdown in the 3rd quarter and a 1 point conversion. At 8:00 minutes in the 3rd quarter, St. Pat's added another major, but were unsuccessful with the extra point.

The Vikings never gave up and had a few opportunities late in the game,
but the Irish held firm to win the LSSAA Jr. Championship, 20-6.

The Jr. Vikings congratulate the Irish on a hard-fought victory.
The Vikings also wish to thank their fans and parents for their support throughout the season.
