Despite a strong effort by
the St. Clair Colts, the scoreboard showed a
one-sided affair as the Jr. Vikings defeated the
Colts 40-0 on Northern's home turf.
The Vikings started
quietly when, after a few early penalties, the
Vikings' Tyler Annett kicked a 1st quarter field
goal. Cole Boersma scored a major on a 30 yard
run in the 2nd quarter and Tyler Annett kicked
the extra point.
10-0 Vikings at the half.
The second half saw more
of the same from the Vikings. Boersma took the
ball on another 30 yard run midway through the
3rd quarter. Boersma would take the ball in for
two more majors in the 4th quarter, one from 10
yards out and the second from the Colts' 35 yard
line. The Vikings tough defense led the Colts to
concede two points in their own endzone. Jacob
Packer got in on the scoring for the Vikings in
the 4th with a strong, 50 yard run into the
endzone. Annett had a perfect second half of
extra point kicks, and the Vikings came out on
top, 40-0.
Special mention to the
Vikings' Curtis Robichaud who had a stellar game
at the middle linebacker position.
The Jr. Vikings are in
action again on Friday, Oct. 10th at 3:30pm, on
the LCCVI Lancers home field.
