It
is only fitting that the LCCVI Lancers and the
Northern Vikings will play against each other in
the LSSAA Championship; It has only happened the
last four years in a row.
"I don't know why that is," Northern head coach Chris Edgar said after his squad
defeated the North Lambton Eagles in the semi-final game 4-1.
"I guess they are two hockey
school's. But the league has been so close in can go either way."
According to Edgar, LCCVI has claimed the championship the past two years.
LCCVI advanced after defeating St. Clair 7-1.
"We are going to have to play as close to perfect game as we can," Edgar said.
"They are a very deep team. We are just looking to get better every week."
Against the Eagles, Colin Epps, Zack Anderson, Cody Stout and Ryan Hunt scored
to lead them to the finals.
Goaltender Chris Clark was solid in net and even delivered the best check of the
game.
Chad Vandenheuvel scored the lone goal for the Eagles. "It was a solid game,"
Edgar said. "But now we have to get ready for next week."
The championship game will be held at the Shores Arena on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
