St.Clair opened the scoring early, just 2 minutes
into the game on a goal by Dan Lumley. They doubled
their lead at the half way point of the period on a
goal by Dan Hachey. But St.Pat's made it close
again, just one minute later on a goal by Tyler
Tobin.In the second
period St.Clair again scored early, less than a
minute into the period, on a goal by Derek
Barneveld. It remained that way for most of the
period, with both teams trading chances, but goalies
Jordan Dugas for St.Pats & Mike Ward for St.Clair
shutting both sides down. With only a minute & a
half to go in the second, St.Pats Kyle Buckle scored
a goal, followed shortly after by St.Pats Taylor
Neilson scoring on a drive from the point, to tie
the game at three.
In a tight third period, teams
trading scoring chances & there were some big hits
in an exciting frame. St.Clair's Derek Barneveld
scored his second at the half way mark of the period
to put the Colts ahead. With just 6 minutes to go in
the game, St.Pats Tyler Tobin scored his second of
the game (while the Irish were shorthanded), to tie
the game up again.
In the final few minutes, both
teams had scoring opportunities, but goalies Dugas &
Ward shut the doors, so the final score was 4 to 4.
