St. Patrick's
Fighting Irish vs St. Clair Colts
Thursday November
26, 2009
Thursday's game between
St.Patrick's and St.Clair was an
exciting hard fought match, with
lots of great checking & plenty of
scoring chances by both teams.
It wasn't until late in the first
period that someone was finally able
to crack the scoresheet, with
St.Patrick's Alex MacEachern opening
the scoring for the Irish. Early in
the second period, the Irish struck
again on a goal by Tyler Tobin. But
the Colts came right back, with Dan
Lumley scoring only 12 seconds after
the Tobin goal. Late in the period,
there was a flurry of goal scoring
with St.Patrick's scoring twice,
both goals by Joel Acton, the second
on the power play. But the Colts
stormed right back, with Cody
Hardman scoring 30 seconds after the
Acton power play goal, and Trevor
Crawford scoring for the Colts with
only 30 seconds left in the period
to make the score 4 to 3 for the
Irish at the break.
It took the Colts only 30 seconds
into the third period to tie things
up, on a goal by Ian VanReenan. The
rest of the period was back & forth
action. With only two minutes left
in the game, St.Patrick's Alex
MacEachern scored his second goal,
which proved to be the game winner.
Winning goaltender was Jordan
Dugas, while St.Clair goalie was
Matt Leason.
