Prior to the Championship game the Micor Sports Excellence
award was presented to a player from each team.
The winners are chosen by each coaching staff based on three criteria:

In the Final game last year the same two teams met with Northern winning the Championship game.
This year it is LCCVI to take the title as they shut out the Northern Vikings in the Final game to
win the 2007 LSSAA Championship Banner.

In the final league standings the Vikings led the league and finished in 1st place with a total of 9 wins, 3 losses, 38 GF & 23 GA for a total of 18 pts.  The Lancers ended up in second place with a total of 7 wins, 4 losses, 1 tie, 38 GF and 30 GA for a total of 15 points. 

Charlton puts the Lancers out front!

In the final game a first period goal by Greg Charlton put the Lancers in the lead when he scored on a scramble in front of the net.  Riley Thompson and Jimmy Rouse assisted on the goal.  Action continued with both sides stepping up and keeping each team from scoring goals.  The same continued in the second as neither side added to the scoreboard. Heading into the third the Vikings needed a goal to stay in the game.  

With 3:19 left on the clock the Lancers scored the insurance goal to take the 2 goal lead on a goal scored by Riley Thompson assisted by Jimmy Rouse and Aaron Gibbings. 

The Lancers defence held off the Viking attack as the Northern Vikings took control of the game late in the third with most of the action in the Lancers end.

 

 With the final minutes winding down, Northern pulled their goalie for the extra man attacker, but the Lancers were able to hold off the attack to finish the game without giving up a goal for the 2 - 0 win and earning the LSSAA Championship title!

Erick Steinman was in net earning the shutout for the Lancers with Brendan Caraher in for the Vikings.



The Lancers now move on to SWOSSAA Semi Finals where they go up against the Winner from Kent County.
