Bluewater Boys u10 District Soccer Teams Play

In Lambton Kent U10 Boys District Soccer action at Heritage Park, the Bluewater Blaze Blue team faced the Bluewater U9’s.  With both teams starting the game slowly, action for the gathered fans was sparse as early back and forth play kept the score tied at 0, until Colin Burchill scored giving the Bluewater Blue a one goal advantage.  A couple of minutes later, a beautiful arcing shot by Zach Vanderwal of the Bluewater U9’s over the hands of an outstretched Bluewater Blue goalie Mat Szabo tied the score at 1.  Persistent play allowed the Bluewater Blue to pull away from the U9’s with 4 goals by Marco DiFederico (via the penalty shot), Chris Docherty, Jordan Walsh and “right footed” Cole Lauzon before half time arrived.

Opening up the second half Cole Lauzon connected to make the score 6-1; but an errant corner kick off Colin Burchill defending the near post by Zach Vanderwal squeaked in the net to make the score 6-2.  Centre Midfielder Andrew Shortt added to the Bluewater Blue tally with a hard struck ball past the U9’s goalie.  Rounding out the scoring were additional markers from Marco DiFederico, Colin Burchill and Sam Fairbairn on a late penalty shot.  Solid defence by Adriano Fuoco and the midfield play of Colin Osler and Mat Szabo clinched the win for Bluewater Blue.
