Sarnia Bluewater Blaze Blue defeat
Chatham
Attack in Boys U10 District Soccer Play
On Tuesday night the
Bluewater Blaze Blue team hosted the Chatham Attack at
Heritage Park. Early in the game Chatham had Bluewater
on the defensive with a number of free kicks near the 18
yard box. Sarnia defense came up big with Adriano Fuoco,
Chris Lauzon and Samuel Fairbairn helping goalie Mathew
Szabo keep Chatham off the score board.
Both teams were evenly matched with exciting back and
forth play entertaining the large group of fans in
attendance. With 5 minutes left in the first half a shot
drilled off the foot of Andrew Shortt from 25 yards out
and beat the Chatham goalie in the bottom right corner.
Two minutes later Adam Craievich found the net off a
corner kick from Marco DiFederico to give the Blaze a
2-0 half time lead.
The Blaze came out hard in the second half with Adam
Craievich adding another goal from a great team passing
effort. Five minutes later Jordan Walsh, in front of the
net blasted a shot out of mid air and into the net for a
4-0 lead in Sarnia’s favour. Throughout the remainder of
the game striker Colin Burchill had a number of chances
but couldn’t find the net. Two late goals by Chatham
with less than 10 minutes left finished the scoring,
with Sarnia’s Bluewater Blaze Blue delivering a 4-2 win.
The victory pushed the Bluewater Blaze Blue record to
6-0; at the half way point of the season the Bluewater
Blaze Blue currently sit in first place in the Lambton -
Kent District U10 Boys soccer league. The Bluewater
Blaze Blue, are sponsored by Palazzi Tile and next see
