2007 Bluewater Jr. Blaze U11 Boys

Bluewater Blaze vs Guelph Rangers
June 2, 2007

The BlueWater Blaze Jr. U-11 Premier Soccer squad battled the Guelph Rangers at home Saturday June 2.  The Blaze was looking for their first win after two tough loses and a tie.

BlueWater struck first when Nicolas VanBilsen made a clever pass to a streaking Dilly Ohuegbe. The Bluewater Striker made no mistake with one touch and a left footed blast to score his first of the year.

Later in the half Matthew Cservik was rewarded his first goal on a beautiful corner from VanBilsen. Daniel Vallee supplied excellent hustle to win the corner.  BlueWater continued to press with good scoring opportunities from VanBilsen and Jenelle Labadie but they could not find the net. 2-0 BlueWater at half.

The second half started with BlueWater continuing their dominance. Ohuegbe made a nice cross to Ryan Lyle who returned the ball back to a charging Ohuegbe. Dilly once again used his left foot to bury the ball for his second of the game. The strong defensive play of Bluewater continued to win balls and all offensive pressure. Steven Blysniuk, Matt Doidge, Brent Arthur, and Mitchel Leblanc continued to intercept balls and feed the wings.  BlueWater again scored when Daniel Vallee crossed a nice corner into the six yard box. Matthew Cservik was there to pot his second of the contest.

Solid play from the midfield of Marcus Dusseault and Labadie allowed solid scoring chances for Dylan Wardell and Steven Taylor at forward but they could not beat the Guelph keeper. Sarnia wanted to continue the assualt on the Ranger net but were caught pressing and Guelph was able to score their lone goal of the contest, ending Mario Hudson's chance at a shutout.

Final 4-1 Blaze.
