The Bluewater Jr. Blaze U-11
Premier team travelled down the 402 to play the London
City Gunners Black. The home squad demonstrated strong
passing skills to start the game and were able to jump
out to a quick 2-0 lead. Mario Hudson the Bluewater
goalie was kept busy and some good saves ensured the
Blaze did not fall further behind. A superb individual
effort from Nik Vanbilsen gave Bluewater some hope.
Vanbilsen gather a pass and galloped wide down the wing,
beating the Gunner defender. VanBilsen cut to the net
and deposited the ball inside the post to make the score
2-1 London.
With new found confidence
Dilly Ohuegbe, the Blaze striker, raced past the London
defence in an attempt to tie the score. Ohuegbe's right
footed attempt sailed just past the far post resulting
in a goal kick.
After the Blaze rally,
London battled back and was rewarded once again after a
scramble in the Bluewater 18 yard box. The London score
took the momentum away from the Blaze and London was
able to tally a late goal in the dying seconds.
Final score London 4
