Sarnia Fury U11 Tie Byron
Fury travelled to London on
Monday night to face the current league leaders Byron.
1st half saw Sarnia get off to a shaky start and found
themselves under a lot of pressure. Josh Elsley Making a
number of saves early on. Byron took the lead after 10
min. Slack marking on the 6 yard line found the Byron
Forward with an easy tap in.
Fury showed great spirit, to fight back and score 2
quick goals. 1st goal coming from a crossed free kick
which found Craig Gunn Who fired home from close range.
The second goal came from constant Sarnia pressure in
the Byron's 18 yard box. The ball Broke to Declan Mayo
who volleyed it into the top corner. Sarnia grew in
confidence and kept the pressure on Byron. Konnor Harris
and Dylan Caron's persistance were causing problems for
the Byron defence.
Great half for Sarnia 2 - 1 at half time.
2nd half saw Sarnia keep up the pressure winning the
midfield battle with Josh Stamos, Anthony Fazzalari,
Kraig Durco and Richael O'Neill all playing well.
Constant pressure almost paid off again as Declan Mayo
saw another great strike rattle off the post. With 15
min to go Sarnia's solid defence were beginning to tire.
Byron were beginning to push hard for the equalizer. It
came from a long ball beating the Sarnia's defence, as
Elsley came to challenge, the forward Managed to poke
the ball past him. TJ Janzen sprinted to the line for
the clearance and was very unlucky and the referee
judged the ball had crossed the line. Final score 2 - 2.
Well done Sarnia !! Good point away from home.
