Sarnia Fury U11
Lose to Gunners
Sarnia hosted London
Gunners on Monday in a bid to gain points on leaders
after their win against Waterloo.
Sarnia started the game on fire with 2 close chances on
the goal line followed by A shot from Kraig Durco that
hit the crossbar. Sarnia continued to carry the play,
Winning the midfield battle with Kraig Durco and Richael
O'Neill playing solid. Slight change of positioning
found Anthony Fazzalari playing well in the sweeper
role. Just before half, Gunners found themselves 1
- 0 up against the run of play. A weak Pass back from
defence was picked up by the Gunners forward and slotted
home.
Gunners came out stronger in the second half and managed
to add to the lead. 2 - 0.
Sarnia tried to get back into the game when Craig Gunn
sent in a dangerous ball from the left, Riley Roberts
was unlucky as his shot hit the post.
Gunners stepped it up again and found themselves getting
in behind the Sarnia defence.
Josh Elsley had to make a series of outstanding saves to
keep his team in the game.
With 10 minutes to go, Gunners added another goal with a
defence splitting pass which Elsley had no chance.
Gunners then finished with a late free kick to end the
game 4 - 0 winners.
An unfortunate result for Sarnia Fury as the scoreline
did not justify Sarnia's efforts in this game.
Sarnia's next game is @ Home to Cambridge 6 Aug Dante
Club.
