Sarnia Fury U11 Tie Guelph
Sarnia hosted Guelph Royals in LDYSL action the past
weekend. Conditions for the game were very hot and humid
and looked to effect both teams early.
The 1st half saw the game fairly even with both teams
creating chances. Best chance coming from Guelph
cracking the crossbar from 6 yards out.
Sarnia pressed well and were again strong in midfield
with Richael O'Neill, Craig Durco pushing hard and Riley
Roberts, Craig Gunn playing well on the wings.
Sarnia's defence also having a steady game with TJ
Janzan breaking down Guelph's attack and Mitch Hodgins
Again reliable at the back. Sarnia showed some
good ball movement in spells but unable to break the
Guelph defence.
Midway through the 2nd half Guelph opened the scoring
with a very quick free kick pass finding the Guelph
forward who managed to lob the ball past Josh Elsley in
goal. Sarnia picked up the pace. Some great play from
Riley Roberts down the right, his low crossed ball found
Trevor McEwan beating the Guelph defender to the ball
and slotting home the equalizer.
Final score 1 - 1 .
Sarnia content with the point but disappointed not to
come away with the win.
Sarnia's next game 1pm Sat. 9th June at Dante Club.
