Sarnia Fury U11 Lose to Norwest

Sarnia hosted Norwest at the weekend looking to close the gap on the league leaders.
Sarnia started well with some good passing and movement from the midfield and never Looked in and danger.  With the 1st half near ending, Ryan Kennedy brought down the Norwest attacked in the box And Norwest were awarded the penalty. Josh Elsley , strong in goal, saved the kick and Sarnia ended the half 0 - 0.

Second half again Sarnia having the better of the play, looked to be in control. Sarnia's defence looked solid with Mitch Hodgins, TJ Janzen, Anthony Fazzalari and Alec Taraborrelli clearing up at the back.
With 10 min of the half gone Sarnia found themselves trailing 1 - 0.  Sarnia was caught out of position, Norwest's through ball Splitting the Sarnia defence, and the Norwest striker shot high past the out stretched Elsley in goal.

Sarnia's frustrations continued when Sarnia coach Scott Kennedy was asked to leave the game after confronting The referee's inconsistent officiating.  Again Sarnia pushed hard at the end, but were unable to pull one back. A tough game for Sarnia with Craig Gunn and Konnor Harris also receiving Yellow cards.

Disappointing result for Sarnia. The boys played hard and showed some good soccer play controlling most of the game. Deserved to take more from the game.

Sarnia now travel to the Waterloo Invitational Tournament Jun 17th and 18th. Where they will play Guelph, Missasauga and Windsor Caboto.
