Sarnia Fury U11 Lose to Norwest
Sarnia hosted Norwest at the weekend looking to close
the gap on the league leaders.
Sarnia started well with some good passing and movement
from the midfield and never Looked in and danger.
With the 1st half near ending, Ryan Kennedy brought down
the Norwest attacked in the box And Norwest were awarded
the penalty. Josh Elsley , strong in goal, saved the
kick and Sarnia ended the half 0 - 0.
Second half again Sarnia having the better of the play,
looked to be in control. Sarnia's defence looked solid
with Mitch Hodgins, TJ Janzen, Anthony Fazzalari and
Alec Taraborrelli clearing up at the back.
With 10 min of the half gone Sarnia found themselves
trailing 1 - 0. Sarnia was caught out of position,
Norwest's through ball Splitting the Sarnia defence, and
the Norwest striker shot high past the out stretched
Elsley in goal.
Sarnia's frustrations continued when Sarnia coach Scott
Kennedy was asked to leave the game after confronting
The referee's inconsistent officiating. Again
Sarnia pushed hard at the end, but were unable to pull
one back. A tough game for Sarnia with Craig Gunn and
Konnor Harris also receiving Yellow cards.
Disappointing result for Sarnia. The boys played hard
and showed some good soccer play controlling most of the
game. Deserved to take more from the game.
Sarnia now travel to the Waterloo Invitational
Tournament Jun 17th and 18th. Where they will play
Guelph, Missasauga and Windsor Caboto. |
