On Saturday,
the Sarnia Spirit U18 girls team travelled
to Windsor to face the East Side Kickers.
The 2 teams each got a goal in the first 15
minutes of the game with Sarnia scoring
first. At the half hour mark, Sarnia saw
themselves up 2-1. The score remained the
same until late in the second half when the
Kickers were able to tie the game. With
minutes left, Windsor went ahead 3-2 and
held on for the win. Both Sarnia goals were
scored by Becky Lapensee. |
Sarnia Spirit vs London City Fusion

On Monday,
London City Fusion came to town to face the
Sarnia Spirit for their first match up of
the season. Sarnia played a very controlled
game possessing the ball throughout the
majority of the game. Julie Kerr scored
first for the Spirit, sending a crossed ball
in front of the net and managing to also get
it behind the Fusion's keeper, ending the
first half 1-0. Becky Armstrong then had 2
goals in the second half, as Sarnia took a
commanding lead over the struggling London
team. The final score was 3-0. Danielle St.
Germain leads the league with 3 shut outs
after Monday's game. |

Sarnia finds themselves in 4th spot with 9 points (3
wins, 2 losses), 3 points behind Guelph and 1 point
behind the tied Kitchener and Windsor teams.
The next game for the girls is Saturday, June 30th at 1
pm at the Centennial Bowl in Guelph.
