Sarnia Fury U11 Season has proven to be Challenging The 2008 season to date has proven to be a challenging one for the Sarnia Fury U-11 Premier soccer team. Eight games (half way point) into their season they have yet to win a game and have been out scored 38 to 4. One would think that with stats like that this team must be improperly placed or is underachieving by a drastic amount, not true in this case. Of the eight games they have been completely out played 3 times, in the other five games they have played with their opponents for parts of each game only to have the bottom fall out. The teams they are playing against have played together for at least four years. The experience level of the opposition has proven to be difficult to over come. The U-11 Fury team is made up of 16 players, 2 players have played and trained at this higher level of play for the past 4 years, 11 others are playing their second season at this higher level while 3 others are playing their first season at something above house league. Of the 16 players 5 of them are eligible to play U-10 this season and have done a marvelous job of adjusting to the higher level of play. To the entire teams credit they have refused to lose faith in their abilities and begin each game with thoughts of winning the game. Special mention should be made of the running and agility training that is provided to the team on a weekly basis that has begun to show its worth in recent games. There is no doubt that this team is getting the quality of training that will lead to winning ways in the long run. Full marks should be given to the boys who continue to work hard and refuse to get discouraged by the lack of wins. Goal scorers to date are Christiano Pagotto with 2 goals, Franco Sproviero and Justin Fazio both with one goal. All goals have come in separate games. highlights brought to you by:
